Hi there,

Recently been fiddling with a videoforte nv1 which I found a while back at the bottom of a scrap pci/isa card box, it seems to boot, however cant find any drivers for the videoforte variant?
I have drivers for the diamond edge one from the vogons driver repository, but at least the midi out doesnt seem to work with them, just get "The device cannot play" from media player after manually loading the drivers from the diamond edge files (the installer doesnt detect the card). Even the non diamond edge driver archived here is for the diamond edge variant.
I've forced the video drivers for the diamond edge variant in and these seem to work, I can at least change resolution/colour depth, burning panzer dragoon as we speak to see if the hardware acceleration actually works.

I get this is a long shot, but really hoping someone has the driver cd at the bottom of a drawer, or backed up on their computer somewhere?
Any help would be appreciated.

I checked the manufacturer's archived website, but the links are dead.

Luckily searching by the filename resulted in a match on driverguide.com. The file size is exactly the same, so it has to be it.

https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php … driverid=107366

I couldn't find the older file though. It's much larger in size. I wonder what the reason could be; removed features from the later driver, or maybe the previous package contained demos, etc?

Also uploaded it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xgck45B99q6_ … bpoW9cWvT0/view

If it works for you, I guess it might be worth adding it to vogonsdrivers.

Awesome thanks for this! I did manage to solve it by trial and error with different versions of the diamond edge driver, there was one version I found which, although I still couldnt install via the installer, it asked for a few files from the win95 cd rom, then seemed to do a bit more. Unfortunately it started bluescreening though, and would keep reverting to 640x480 16 colour on boot, with any attempt to change it causing the bluescreen again. Turns out I needed the video driver to be the same version and all works fine.

This might be handy though to get all the proper utillities as well instead of being stuck with just the basic drivers and nothing else. Will have to have a play with these tonight/tomorrow and see if it helps. I did try the MPU401 General MIDI in DOS Shell driver from the diamond edge card, which didnt work at all for me.

Also, some games have cd-rom audio thats streamed through the header on the back of the cd rom drive, normally connects to the sound card which then mixes it into the audio out. Cant seem to find one on the videoforte variant like the diamond edge card has? Oversight perhaps? Bit irritating but I guess its not the end of the world.
