Hi,
What's the best way to play Multi Player with Quake 1?
I'm using Winquake right now.
Darkplaces can connect to Quakeworld servers
most out there use Quakeworld clients like fuhquake and fteqw and ezquake (which is just fuhquake with flat skins etc and such cheaty stuff)
be warned though, everyone cheats to their advantage, though they defend it as "IT'S JOHN CARMACKS ORIGINAL VISION OF QUAKE"
Thanks! Now, for some reason, my options are not saving.
is config.cfg set to read only?

Ya, I fixed it. The .cfg file hadn't copied over in the first place.
I've got Fuhquake in there now and it's working great, but when I try connect
to play Multiplayer, it says "Connecting to <ip adress>" constantly and the Deathmatch never starts. I'm just stuck in the console.
are you typing in the correct ip ?
Yes I am, I've tried it many times.
It keeps saying (example)
Connecting to 10.132.120.169
Connecting to 10.132.120.169
Connecting to 10.132.120.169
Connecting to 10.132.120.169
And never starts.
Do I have to wait awhile?
Why 10.132.120.169 ?

Guardian of the Sacred Five Terabyte's of Gaming Goodness
I just made it up for an example. I'll put in the port number to, that's probably the problem.

Why is the server address a secret?

It's not. I'm just showing a pattern, use which ever numbers you want to.
A lot of things could be wrong. Adding guesswork into the mess just makes it harder for everyone to help you. Give us the actually IP-addresses and port numbers you are using and we MIGHT be able to help.
