I never touched Windows until 3.1. What was the point? 😀 I was almost purely DOS, but had a Tandy with Deskmate too (more of a curiosity than anything useful). Windows 3.1 will run on a 286 as well, but not particularly quickly.

I actually got the machine running perfect after washing the motherboard in my dishwasher machine 😎

Running with full 4mb RAM now, Adlib soundcard + Music quest MPU 401 card/Roland CM32L 😁

Not a speed monster but it got good scores in Nortonn sysinfo compared to other 286-12mhz machines but Wing Commander 1 is too much for this oldie 😜

can freedos run in this pc? or just msdos?

I just tried EMM286 also..it works but consumes 64k conventional memory 😳

It's for the page frame, real EMS boards use 64kB between 640kB-1MB

Have one of those boards with 8mb RAM on but no free ISA slots for it *waaah* 😖

Damn desktop case, only 3 16bit ISA slots and 2 8bit 😵

nah 3.1 will run in Standard mode.
