I'm not saying I know that for sure, but it probably is. No one I know who has XP has this problem. They all got XP about a year and a half after it came out. So either it's b/c I have more bugs than them, or I just have the special one. I have a lot of weird problems w/ my comp.

Well, I've come to find that Sierra/Dynamix titles can be rather fussy. Starting to wonder how Vlad got Willy running with SB sound at all.

Sounds like he was having similar problems.

My comp is just a bitch. It don't think it's able to initialize low resolutions. AND the DOS VM is a piece of crap.

I'd say the best option (for the present time) is to use the floppy PC version with DosBox.

Yeah, I use the disk version. It's fine with dosbox.

I like Win2000 a lot! I like the features of XP, but it's too damn incompatible.

Well, first of all MSCDEX has nothing to do with it.

Willy Beamish CD just has buggy sound drivers as most Sierra games.

Try to use the freshly released GOSiERRA v3 from:

That should solve it. For the previous version (v2) I guessed how the dynamix driver bundle format works and in fact I guessed somewhat wrong. The new version should be able to patch them all.

I used GoSierra v3 with Willy Beamish CD, and the game runs, but it has no music and the voices become high pitch screeches every other second. Any reason for this?

I have it running in DOSBOX under XP PRO. Everything is working great. The only sound settings it asked for was Soundblaster.
