Windows 95 has Dosstart. What does Win98 have?
I'm building a test machine and I can't remember how to edit (or find) the autoexec/config file I need to add mouse drivers, ect. when I exit win98 into DOS.

Is this the original Win98 or Second Edition?
My original Win98 has a dosstart.bat in the Windows directory.

Second Edition, no dosstart here.
Just start 'msconfig.exe' (when in win98), which is found in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM/ folder. The tabs would then explain which is which. Edit at will!!
(I 've made a shortcut to desktop for it 😁 )
PS; the autoexec.bat and config.sys are also found directly under C:\
At least I can see them there, both in DOS and win... 😎
There's no dosstart in msconfig. Or at least I can't find it.
Does it work if you manually create it?
Maybe I'm not getting this, but WHY do you need this 'dosstart' thingie ?
You edit in your mouse and CD driver lines directly in the autoexec file, or...?
(confused)
What is written in the autoexec.bat file, when you open it ?
I think he only wants them to load when he exits Win98 to dos mode. The autoexec.bat and config.sys are loaded anyway, even in Windows.
Hmm, there is this dosstart.bat file to be seen in the C:\WINDOWS directory - would that help ?
Mine says:
C:\WINDOWS\CTCM
LH C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\MOUSE\MOUSE.EXE
