Why is it with this case, I can't run MOO2 in dosbox with the message
"This program cannot be run in dos mode"? It is the main .exe that directly runs the program but I still get the message.

You have the Windows version of it.

But aren't all of them only available in windows

Master of Orion 1 was for DOS.
Master of Orion 2 had one release for DOS and another for Windows 95.
Master of Orion 3 was for Windows 98.
