Also I understood some versions of ALI chipset didn't work properly with the + chips. In the event that this is the case, what can be done about this? Do I need to flash the bios? I will tell you what make and model the board is tomorrow.
It's only the newest ALI chipsets that won't work with the mobiles. Frankly, of all ALI Super 7 boards I've come across, none were using that particular chipset...or maybe I just got lucky?
Afaik it will either not work, or very slowly. The good thing about that chipset though is it fixes a bug in the caching system where earlier chipsets could only cache up to 128MB (except if you used one of the chips with L2 cache that is).
VIA chipset boards should be good though, as should SiS.
What board "exactly" do you have?
