Static free bags and bubblewrap.

Well, of course. That goes without saying. But once you've put them in static free bags and bubble wrap, what do you do with them then?

Wrapped up in static bags and bubble wrap, I put them in a very very isolated plastic storage container, with labeled cardboard boxes sorting out the types (i.e. AGP2X box, AGP4X box, ISA video box, VLB video keyboard box)
I don't have the original boxes for many of my hardware anymore.

Depending on storage duration, then perhaps on shelves, in closet, or inside a bigger regular cardboard box.

Ok, so this is mostly a German specialty (Maxibrief, google it), had a hard time getting a large heavy box of........ boxes sent to my country, non-EU and all - but glad I did, makes it so easy to stack'n'store... 😎

Though the postage to Canada might not be worth it...

At the moment i have them all over the place, boxes, shelves, half completed towers all around, my workbench is a total clutter and im in sore need of more anti-static bags. Eventually ill get somewhere with all the projects im doing at the same time.

But ideally i like to match retro hardware with retro furniture:

I store my odd parts in "newer" boxes like my main system's motherboard box, some sound cards in my AWE32/64's boxes, video cards in my graphic cards' boxes, memory modules in my PSP box, classic CPU's in a separate box, etc.

Anti-static bags, and then placed in cardboard boxes on open shelves. But I'm runnin out of space fast!!!

DUDE! You have a Touch Systems box?!? I've owned a few of those myself. 😁

I put them in kiwi boxes which all are the same dimensions.
The boxes I either put on shelves or stack real high.

The cards in the boxes I try to lay in such a way (a bit like a puzzle) the parts don't scratch eachother, or only with minimal rub when handling the boxes.

The boxes are labeled so I know where what is.

Only prob is, I recently found out the "window" in my attic lets UV light through and some cases had started to yellow, so I moved all white (or yellow 😜) cases away from there.

Screws and other tiny parts I keep in those small plastic suitcase-like boxes.

Time for a cup-o-coffee! 😁

You can do it in boxes (cardboard of plastic ones) Then put the stuff in and laying it where you have space for? Maybe in a wardrobe or something like that. 🤣

USPS Priority Mail flat rate boxes. They offer a few sizes perfect for video cards, motherboards, storing hard drives and cd drives, etc, and are easy to stack. I used to store arcade game pcb this way in the large flat rate ones. Bout the only game I was not able to store in one was a Primal Rage pcb.

I just started organising my stuff recently:

I used to store everything on the brown rack and you can imagine how messy it got. So the white 5x5 rack on the left is a real saver. I still need to come up with some system for sorting the parts, though. Most of my stuff is Socket 7, but I have a little bit of everything, from 8088 to Slot 1. I also have a small storage box with sections for everything from RAM to mounting screws and a tray with CPUs.

Honestly I can't imagine myself bothering with static bags — I like to have everything easily accessible and on display.
