Winter approaches. As a youth ski race coach I, years ago, wrote several training tools, using Quick Basic, that let the skier stand on a tilting platform the balance and orientation of which is monitored using switches keyed to 4-button joystick button status. Ski moves are then indicated on the screen and the board must be quickly adjusted to match. A training game, you could say.

I've since re-written the code to use a serial port interface, but now most computers have neither gameport or (old) serial input. SO: ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO GET DOSBOX TO PICKUP THE BUTTON STATUS COMING FROM THE ROCKPORT USB TO GAMPORT CONVERTER THAT IS RUNNING UNDER XP (HID gets the joystick and button status fine)? THAT IS, CAN DOSBOX GET STUFF FROM XP WITHOUT A SOUNDBOARD INTERFACE, OR IS IT AS MUCH OF A LOST CAUSE AS DOS UNDER XP?

Harekiet, not a way to make friends. Yes the caps is annoying but even I'm not that rude...most of the time...

If the joystick functions in XP it will function in DOSBox. 'Nuff said.

Yes, it’s my fault.
