Here are some 3d mark benchmarks that I did for the dual xeon.

The hardware stats as mentioned earlier are as follows:
2 xeon cpu's specifically 800fsb 3.0 gig nocona's.
corsair pc3200 (2gb) ram
EVGA geforce 6800 ultra agp card.
Hardrive is a 250 Seagate sv Series.
Case is a Lancool PC-K63
PSU is a corsair 650w

these benchmarks are not multiprocessor aware as far as I know.

is it me or is the 2001 score low?
I cannot remember what I was getting for 3dmark 2001 back is the day!

Check the NB on the board to rule out it being overheated and slow hard drives will always botch some benches. These SMP boxes do better in multithreaded benches and apps than in single threaded.

Considering the hardware, 2001SE does seem slow. I got 9715 with a Tualatin 1.6ghz + 4600Ti. You should be getting double or so?

I got 15000 or so on a Prescott 3.2ghz with FX5950 Ultra [a\nd hyperthreading of course!], if that helps.

I know little about Server gear. At work I have stumbled across an old server. Actually we have quite a few old machines old sent my way because nobody knows what to do with it.

I looked at the mainboard and it's an Intel SE7501BR2. It has dual Ethernet, one fast, one Gigabit, onboard GPU and an onboard Adaptec SCSI controller. Haven't tested the machine yet. There are two massive coolers for the CPUs and quite a bit of dust.

That's all I know at this point 😀

Oh and it has four sticks of 512MB memory.

looks like a first gen socket 603 board. I love the netburst xeons. ^.^

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
