In Doom I get no music at all. No matter if i select General Midi or Sound Blaster. Just Sound FX.
And you didn't change the volume settings of the music inside doom?
No. And i´ve got the same problem in othe General Midi Supporting Games like Rise of the Triad.
My Soundcard is a Terratec DMXFire 1024
Don't know, probably no good mci midi driver support with those cards then or your midi mapper isn't setup correctly.

😁 Or you could use zdoom. http://www.zdoom.org it also has opl emulation for the mus music it's under the advanced audio options. I'd reccomend setting the playback rate to 48000 HZ for the emulation or the mus music doesn't sound right.
