i would like to run earl weaver baseball (1987 electronic arts). i can get into the game from dos, see it, and hear it, but the icons move way too fast to play it.

i downloaded dosbox v4.5. i started the game using dosbox, but it is still too fast. i changed the cycles down from 4000 to 3000 to 1000 to 100, then to 0. the game speed never slowed down. i know nothing about computer commands, so i dont know what else should be done.

i am running win98, amd-k6, 192 ram. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty slow computer to be running so fast...

Try MOSLO (more slow) its a program that slows your games down, however more than often it is that the game is too slow not too fast!

What is DOSBOX v.4.5? Are you sure you tinkered with cycles properly? 😕

i dont know what to tinker with. when i first ran dosbox, the cycles were at 4000. i reran the program several times, each time lowering the number of cycles.

is there something else i need to adjust along with the cycles to slow the program down?

I'd be interested to see DOSBox 4.5, seeing as how it's probably about 12 years in the future.

Yes, it’s my fault.

It's probably an internal timing thing in the game, using some timer/instruction that's not emulated properly inside DOSBox. That's the basic nightmare when it comes to emulating a whole system, is that programmers often exploited silly bugs or behaviours that exist in the real hardware, but aren't documented.
