What are some of the best Audio players [MP3 / WAV / OGG / MIDI / MOD / IT / XM ] for MS DOS and Windows 3.11?
I am more interested into DOS players.
Id like to know if there are some with a nice VA meter and spectrum analyzer visuals in it 😀

I always found it ultra cool to play MP3s from DOS.
The PC is P1 133MHz, 192MB RAM, Sound Blaster 16 PRO. I could also plug in my AWE64 Gold.
Don't have any ISA MIDI card for now.

http://mpxplay.sourceforge.net/ does wonders... even plays OGG files

There's also Ken Silverman's MP3 player program that outputs via PC Speaker but it only works on very specific MP3 file formats.

The one that pops into my head for tracker formats is MOD4WIN. That was one of the hot players in the Win3.x days. Brings back BBS memories....

Wasn't MOD4WIN a piece of OEM software?

I know I used to use Cubic Player 1.5/1.6/1.7 and ModPlug 1.1/1.2 in 1996-97. and WinAMP 1.x for MP3s of course.

EDIT: Doh, realized this thread was about Win16.. The only Win16 mod player i've remember using is Ultimod and it really sucks 😀
