I was browsing Maxim Stepin's website for some information about his superb hq3x filter routine (recently implemented in ZSNES and ScummVM), when I discovered an incredible texture filtering routine he's been working on lately. I'm not sure if OpenGlide can support it, but the potential is so tremendous that it would be a shame to not have a look at it:

The demo is impressive and the Smart Texture Filtering doesn't hit the framerate that much on my P3 667 MHz.

Just the thing we need for a high definition TR1. No need to build it into OpenGLide or Glidos. Just apply it to the textures of TR1 to make them 4 x higher resolution in each direction, and then build them into a texture pack.

is this the same thing used in scummvm ? how is it possible to apply it in dos games (or just on windows screen) ?

Wow! I'm very impressed with this guy's work. Video cards manufacturers/chipset developers should buy his routines from him and implement them for newest cards. 😳
