Hi,

I have what I believe to be an original SoundBlaster as well as a SoundBlaster 16. I was wondering if anyone could give me any specifics on these two, namely, is there anything noteworthy about them or are they just plane jane?

Thanks. Sorry about the crude panoramic for the SB16:

Just Google the CT# and the exact model should surface.

Sound Blaster 16 and a Soundblaster 2.0 (which is desirable)

Looks like that SB 2.0 won't work with the GAL/CMS mod with the 1336A chip.

You sure about that? I thought I saw someone with a card identical to mine in the thread that claimed it worked fine... This is a very late model SB 2.0 judging by the datecode on the Yamaha chip (26th week of 1993)...

Pretty sure. Your card bears CT1336A bus chip that is notorious for incorrect work with CMS upgrade. You need a card with CT1336 to upgrade properly.

With CT1336A you get working CMS, but OPL2 and PCM audio only works in some applications and doesn't work in other.
