A notable stepping for enthusiasts was SL35D. This version of Katmai was officially rated for 450 MHz, but often contained cache chips for the 600 MHz model and thus usually was capable of running at 600 MHz.

Further trivia in my notes: "stepping 3, which may mean sl35d"

I use that monitor too, very nice.

I just tracked down the service manual. It was a bit of dig so here's the link
http://www.go-gddq.com/upload/2009_07/09072809483382.pdf

It's missing the first page, which is weird, but the parts list at the end makes it looks like it covers model FB775C-EA and FB775C-EP

Browsing is good, youtube on the other hand is slow, usually just 360-480p full screen.

I wonder if you upgrade your video card, perhaps you might be able to watch YouTube videos in 720p/1080p.

Look what I found in the attic of my parents house. I guess I must have stored it around 2000 and forget about it. This was actully my brothers computer which he upgraded in 1998 from P-1 120Mhz. I must have removed and sold all the components except the motherboard and CPU. There was also a USB 1.0 and 3com Nic installed.

I just tested it and it runs OK. Battery was dead so I removed it.

Motherboard is Socket 7, Shuttle HOT-569 v2.0 with i82430TX chipset. There is also review on Anandtech and TomsHardware. It runs a AMD K6-2/300 1.8V. Mobo was/is configured to run it at 66x5.5 = 366MHz.

That case again... I think everyone must have had it at some point.

Good to see you're holding up the tradition:

I didn't even notice that until I uploaded the picture 🤣 Maybe this is how they were assembled.

Now I turned the cover around.

Nice collection of LED panels.
http://www.minuszerodegrees.net/led_speed_dis … eed_display.htm

To be clear, these don't show frequency per se, they show whatever two choices you've made with the jumpers. The panel is wired to swap between the two states when the Turbo LED state changes.

My mintower had an oddball. It had a strange pinout, and even stranger name: "Wendy II". A product of Lost Boys Engineering, I guess.
