I have an old Windows program that runs in W7 with a patch OK, but will only fill the screen in 640x480 with a non-resizable window. Changing the DPI settings in Windows made the window a lot better size, but I have to log off every time I change the DPI settings. Is there a way to change the DPI temporarily or just when a certain program is run?

Why not just lower the resolution before starting the program, and then re-set it when you're done? That doesn't require a restart/log-off/whatever. You could also set "run in 640x480 screen resolution" as a compatibility option.

I hate the horrible scaling it introduces.

Ah. Yes that makes sense. Do you have a newer-ish graphics card that supports GPU-based scaling that you could enable?
