i had the same problem...warum rede ich englisch du kommst ja auch aus deutschland.
also ich hatte das gleiche problem, du must folgendes machen:
geh erstmal in die system steuerung, dann auf tastertur, dann auf menü eingabe klicken und dann auf hinzufügen
dann fügst du die englische tastatur englisch(usa) dazu.
und bevor du die dosbox startest musst du jetzt unten in der leiste von de auf en umschaltet, ist ein blaues symbol in der taskleiste. einfach mit der maus draufklicken
wenn du jetzt dosbox startest müsste "\" auf der # liegen und der : auf schift+ö

I can't type the \ key on dosbox it is alt-gr+8 in france and it give me only the _ key

like if i had pressed only the 8 key and not the alt-gr one

Same here but with a Spanish keyboard. "\" it is probably located elsewhere. Try typing other keys. On Spanish keyboard is at "ç" key.

Use / for \

Danke Alimo. Hat mein Problem gelöst. Im nachhinein habe ich dann aber festgestellt, daß das Spiel, das ich starten wollte, (Master of Magic) doch gar nicht so sehr meinem Geschmack entspricht.

For those of you, who don't speak german: My problem was solved by a reply of Alimo.

And Alimo reply was to switch the keyboard to English ... 😀

alimo, could you please put you instructions in english. i do understand most of it but not enough
