Actually it doesn't, the explanation of liability comes down to the license being used, which is GPL.

There's probably no shortage of "corporate environments" running brazenly pirated software, too.

It would be helpful both to us, and to the persons wanting to run legacy non-game apps, to push them towards vDOS.

Not just so they stop asking for help here, but also because it's better suited to what they want to do.

On the subject, how closely tied to DOSBox is vDOS? It seems to have been branched off and trimmed down at some point, perhaps 2014-03? Is there any ongoing discussion between the devs (with only 11 posts, it doesn't seem like josschaars is here much).

I could point people to vDOS but I have no interest in the project and never used it so I'd have to explain that every single time. Easier just to say DOSBox doesn't support anything except games.

Agreed, it's known to be a DOSBox fork but unknown how often it syncs with DOSBox SVN, if at all...

i have test the vdos with the clipper-dbase program, it works with vDOS, but i also findout that vDos doesn't even support CGA.
AlleyCat for example can't works properly on vDOS.
And that mean under vDOS, Lotus 1-2-3 still can't view its graphics charts.
