Elite Force does not depend on registry keys. All it ever asks for is your CD in the drive. Its CD key is stored in baseef/ and will still be there.

The problem i have is I select new game and it just jumps back to the main menu (even if i type map borg1 in the console)
the game used to work fine

sounds like the 1.0 engine headbanging into a 1.2 game dll.

It's pretty clear you're using a v1.2 client with the v1.1 game module (which should read April 10 2001 under the gamename: baseEF part). Patch up to 1.2 to fix this version conflict.

There is a patch 1.2 readme in the game folder which makes me think I have patched it
cant reinstall the patch it thinks the game isnt installed
also the readme says
"Please note that that after applying 1.2 patch, it will update the HoloMatch code to 1.2, while Single Player will be upgraded to 1.1. If you had previously applied the 1.1 patch before installing the 1.2 patch, you will still see the Single Player version reporting as 1.1. This is completely normal."

Tried a 1.1 (german) nocd and now its working

I dont have an optical drive in this pc so I cant re install
could I have your reg entries so i can install the patch
