Did find out that Promise did make audiocards. Sadly no info on the gus version, but they release the promise 3d websound. No info on the chipset though.

TH99 have a lot of errors and mistakes. So, it's possible, that this card never exists.

The Synergy Vipermax might be a bit more rare than the GUS Extreme, I'm only aware of a handful of those.

I always think, that Synergy Vipermax and GUS Extreme is same board, differ only with logo and box. Is this true?

I think so. My GUS Extreme had Synergy Vipermax silkscreened on the PCB, but they silkscreened over it again with different data. There are more people who own or owned such a GUS Extreme, but there is too little info to say how much revisions made it to the store. Most are labeled version 3.0 I believe.

What about the Yamaha SoundEdge SW20-PC?

It's the only one I've ever seen in person and I haven't seen any of them on ebay either (at least in the two years I've been browsing ebay for retro stuff).

I've been looking for one for a while now, and frankly the only reason I managed to snag this one is pure luck. An acquaintance who also collects retro HW had it, and we occasionally trade stuff.

Who else here on vogons has one of these (except for me and keropi)?

The list seems to be missing all MCA sound cards.
Also I doubt that the Primax M16B/M16C is really so rare.
And why is the Maxi Sound 64 Home Studio Pro rare? (and what about the non-Pro and Dynamic3D then?)

Added.

Yes, and I don't have info about this kind of boards. You can add, if you know.

Let's keep this for some time and see, if there a lot of owners - we can remove them.

Don't have enough info. What is the difference between Pro and non Pro.

Looking now I see the Maxi Sond Game Theater 64 rare, I only see two vogons users with it and I don't see one being sold a long time ago (even being a "new" isa sound card, it was sold in 1997)

Here's some info about the pro one: http://web.archive.org/web/19990423052705/www … ound/ss01d.html
I belive the best place to find info about that old cards is using webarchive and see what were the infos in the guillemot website

Well, I know for a fact that the Roland LAPC-I is very rare and quite expensive when it rarely shows up for sale - yet I personally know at least 3 collectors who own one - not to mention the growing vogons users list. To me, it doesn't make it any less rare - it makes it desirable... Same with the CT1330 and a few other cards - like the SW1000XG - there's tree of them on ebay right now selling for a wad of cash (one seller is asking for 550 pounds, cheapest one is 283$, and there's another one in open auction with 1 bid of 99$ and 1 day to go).

I believe what makes a card rare is how desirable it is + current availability and price (witch is usually derived from a combination of the first two).

If you guys wanted to go nuts, you could search the forums for each card and add the forum IDs for each person found who said they had one at the time.
...
I for one am not *that* crazy 😉

Ok, then:
Guillemot's MaxiSound Home Studio Pro 64 - version with additional board,
Guillemot's MaxiSound Game Theater 64 - cheaper version, without some features.

There are two Miro PCM10's on eBay right now, from Germany. I've seen Miro come up quite often on eBay when looking for soundcards, but it's always from Germany. They must have some secret stash of Miro cards there, like Hungary has all Gravis stuff stashed away.
