I am deeply, deeply disappointed with Fallout 4. I loved the first 3 and New Vegas so much that I put my money down for 4 and all the DLC sight-unseen on release date.
And it is just utter, utter garbage that is not worth $5 on a Steam sale. Not even worthy of the Fallout name.
Where do I start? Settlements are a pointless time sink. I feel like I could have finished the main quest by now in maybe 10-15 hours if I hadn't bothered any with settlements (but wanted to give it a chance) or had to make so many runs back to base to deal with junk management.
Perks/skills are completely broken compared to how it used to be----there is no point planning a certain build since you'll eventually have all the perks anyway due to the fact that there is no level cap.
Vignettes/areas that should have been interesting quests (the Fight Club and the Robot Races) turn into pointless "slaughter the raiders" --- you have literally no other option than to do that. Compare with Fallout 2 where you can become a prize fighter if your unarmed is high enough.
Side quests in general are boring as hell. Fedex and "go here kill everything" abound .
I can't be arsed to give two shits about the main storyline and the simplistic dialog choices: "yes, no (yes), sarcastic (yes), more info".
The voice actor sounds like a total dipshit, too.
Minor redeeming points are some of the companion related story options, but it is a very thin shine on this otherwise steaming turd.
The game looks very similar to Fallout 3 and I don't see what is killing my laptop GPU and regularly bringing the game to 5-10 fps with lowest resolution and quality when New Vegas and Fallout 3 run at decent resolution and high/ultra settings at 20-30 fps.
Just an all-around bad game that feels like it was designed by a committee of MBAs with brain damage.
