Always wanted a PC built to run a later OS/2 version. Not just something that can run it, one originally sold with it, with its stickers and everything. Not going to pay for it the amount I'm guessing it'd cost though, just a wish.

I'm tantalizingly close to completing my 486dx2/66 build (just waiting on an I/O controller that's in shipment), but I do not have an AT case with Turbo LED. That would be sweet.
Also would like a really nice 15" flat CRT. Beyond that, it would be cool to have a later model 286 system to cover the handful of games that run too fast at 386/25 (the slowest my Pentium DOS rig will slow down to).

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

You may be disappointed. There were Escom machines with OS/2 on them, and some custom suppliers.

Then, there was IBM. You'd expect an IBM machine to be built properly, wouldn't you? Back in the days when I had a Thinkpad 701 (butterfly) I sent it in for repair. Seeing as I'd previously installed OS/2 on it myself, I asked for it to be reimaged with the standard OS/2 build.

It was awful, possibly FAT only too. I ended up wiping it out and reinstalling.

My AGP GPU collection (15 cards) : LINK
What's missing ?
Pretty much everything older than GeForce 2 Ti/Ultra...
GeForce DDR, TNT2 (not "M64"), Voodoo 3, etc.
Why ?
Can't find them, or are out of my reach (Poland...), or prices are waaaay too high 🙁

Wow...your collection of cards newer than GF2 is pretty much awesome though! 😁

Which cards do you have in your collection atm?

TNT2 is expensive these days? And those early Ati AGP cards used to be everywhere, there's got to be some still floating around for you 😁

Whats missing in your collections?

List of cards from pic earlier, (beggining top left, and going right) :
1) GeForce 6800 Ultra
2) GeForce 6600 GT 256MB GDDR3 (500/1000MHz)
3) Radeon 8500 128MB
Second row :
4) GeForce 5950 Ultra (w/ACS type NV4 cooler, BIOS OC'ed to 500/1000MHz)
5) GeForce 7600 GS 256MB GDDR3 (BIOS moded to 7600 GT), AGP 3,3V support (probably, not tested yet)
6) Radeon 9800 XT (w/ACS type ATI3 cooler, BIOS OC'ed to 425/770MHz)
3-rd row :
7) GeForce 4600 Ti 128MB (w/XC-70Cu cooling, long screws - for compatibility reasons - were "donated" from other cooler)
8 ) Gainward 7900 GS Golden Sample 512MB (S/N : "XNA/790GS+T352-PM8370-GS", 20PS/7VS hardlocked)
9) Radeon X850 XT (can be OC'ed to PE - I checked 😀)
4-th row :
10) Gainward GeForce 3 Ti 200 128MB (changed cooler, stable on 3 Ti 500 spec.)
11) HIS Radeon HD 4670 1GB 750/1600 "IceQ" edition
12) Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB
5-th row :
13) GeForce 2 Ti 64MB (stable on "GF2 Ultra" settings)
14) HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ3 512MB AGP => the fastest "stock" AGP GPU 😀
15) Sapphire Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB GDDR3

Few days ago I was ale to obtain a TNT 16MB and TNT2 32MB : LINK and a week ago - Radeon 7500 64MB (with noisy fan...).
TNT2 works fine, I haven't checked TNT "1", yet (it's 3,3V AGP only).
Slowly building my collection 😀

Q: Are those TNT's based on SGRAM, or is it SDRAM ?

Seems like you basically have every generation covered 😁

Most of my graphics cards actually predate GF2 though. Got lots of those MX cards.

Is there actually a thread about showing your computer parts collection?
edit: Thread made here Show us pics of your collection :D, you can show your pics there if you want 😀

But anyway, noticeable graphics cards missing in my collection are the first GF and the first NV graphics card (NV1) and perhaps any PCI Voodoo that's above a V3 3000.

Since I already posted AGP collection, I might as well just add my PCI-e collection (the bigger part of it at least 😉) : LINK

From the top :
GeForce GTX 780 Ti
2-nd Row :
GeForce GTX 580 Lighting 1,5GB (I guess you have to belive me on word, since it doesn't have any markings...)
Radeon HD 5870 1GB
3-rd row :
GeForce GTX 285 1GB
Radeon HD 4870 1GB (almost dead - works only on "Standard VGA" driver 🙁)
4-th row :
GeForce 8800 GTX
Radeon HD 2900 XT 512MB
5-th row :
GeForce 7900 GX2 Duo
Radeon X1950 XTX 512MB
6-th row :
GeForce 7900 GTX
Voodoo 1 PCI (of course) 😀
Radeon X850 XT PE
7-th row :
GeForce 6800 Ultra (425/1100)
Quadro FX 1300 128MB (it's GeForce PCX 5900-ish performance wise, oh and Windows 7 x64 hates it 😁).

I would like to add Radeon R9 290X in future, and some other FL_12 DirectX 12 cards.

At this point, the only thing I'm missing is a DEC Alpha system. Then I'll have at least one of every architecture a public release of Windows can run on. (Although I would like to replace my giant 4U Itanium server with an actual HP Itanium *workstation* running Windows XP Itanium Edition.)

So some of you have very nice collections of hardware, computers, games, monitors, software and all those things...but what is you feel missing in your collections? And I don't mean really rare stuff like the Socket 4 Pentium Overdrive (but please do tell if you do have such uncommon items 😁 ) but stuff one could arguably say any collector should have in his collection (or had in his collection).

I'll start:

My collection happens to be mostly hardware and I have tons of that stuff laying around. Motherboards, graphics cards, AT towers, literally hundreds of items. I even got a couple harder to come by items like a Cyrix 5x86 133 feipoa kept reminding me about 😜

But some items are missing from my collection, and here's a small list:

I haven't got a single AMD K5 processor. Not even one!
I don't have any Socket 423 motherboards
I don't have a single Slot A motherboard
And I don't have anything related to Roland, nothing 🙁
And also missing is a copy of Windows XP 64-bit
I do have an Insite floptical drive but none of it's disks
I have somekind of large IBM optical disks but none of it's drives 😵
Edit: I forgot to mention I never got around to getting a USB LS-120 drive and am also missing a USB floppydrive that's basically a standard floppydrive in an external housing

So what do you feel is missing in your collections? This can be anything computer related and doesn't have to be hardware, it could be a game or a program you've been looking for for years, just to name something.

Lets hear it! 😁

I've 3/4 usb floppy from toshiba/ibm and no name supplier full functionaly.
3/4 K5 with or without goldcap.

I love retro stuff but sometime is very boring test it? 😈

The awesome thing about retro computing is that you can recreate your old machine, or build the machine you dreamed you had.
