Hey all,
I cant get ESS audiodrive ISA 1868f to work on windows 3.11 workgroups, i have got the driver from Vogons vintage driver library i manage to get to the setup.exe starts fine with a nice looking ess setup screen but then hangs(Freezes) as soon as i click to proceed with install. Everything worked fine with windows 95 and 98SE.
I have installed windows 3.11 over dos 6.22.
Its a Pentium 133mhz, motherboard DFI G586IPV Rev B, 48mb ram, quantum fireball hd.

Can anyone help? i can make a video on youtube later today, its 4am now and i wont be able to respond till later today. But any suggestions will help that i can try when i wake up. Thanks

I figured it out everyone, you need windows 3.1 not 3.11 to install ESS 1868f and at the start instead of c:/win type c:/win -s and setup the sound from that mode of windows 3.1.

Yeah, I've actually heard about certain drivers not working with 3.11 but on 3.1.

Might be a problem, some of the cards I am using in my upcoming 486's drivers are 3.11-exclusive. Hopefully the Soundblaster 16 drivers work with 3.11 🤣

Yeah it was strange it didnt work with 3.11, I think next time i will stick to the proper soundblaster 16 ISA cards. There are videos on youtube on how to install Soundblaster 16 cards but not ess for 3.11.
