Number 9 cards, were indeed quite nice. Usually based around an S3 chip.

Yes....
I have this #9 S3-Virge325, and the image quality is chrisp, clear and spot on. Colours are a bit dull, compared to other gpu-makers.
Compared to a CL5446, this card has some really cold and dull colours. Everything else is awesomme about it.

EDIT:
I know it is not a 1994 card. It was only an example as this is my only #9

I have a Trident TGUI from 1994. Please check my post history for further information (a whole threads worth).

Didn't Number Nine cards have Beatles quotes silkscreened on the back or something like that?

That's correct. Spend some time looking on mine for it. Too bad I'm not too familiar with Beetles songs 😊

Would like to read about the Trident TGUI from 94....looked through your post history and cant find anything on this particular topic..could you point me to it? I always enjoy seeing someone going through all the paces with an old Trident card...its the card a lot of us had in our computers back in the day so its cool to see how it looks..

This is quite possibly the most stupendous thing I've seen for PCI bus. It has 1993 written all over it.

Does it work? Any benchmarks for that overweight monster? Will an ISA GD-5434 or Tseng 4000/w32i run circles around it?
