Hi,
I never really owned any Joysticks in the 90s, and the ones I did were super cheap garbage. I am looking to find a good quality joystick that can be found on ebay, etc for cheap. Good build quality, doesn't breakdown / become too inaccurate and won't need to be refurbished basically.
Also I suppose it needs to have a gameport connection. I have used a Ms Sidewinder before I think.. is that the one where it stays wherever you move it to? I kind of like that for the fluidity of motion, but having it not spring back to center kind of felt confusing at the time. Mainly I am looking for stuff I can use to play Star Wars games with, and maybe some more arcade type flight sim games. I was never big into flight sims back then (because I could never run them), although I could see myself using them for games like MechWarrior 2 also (although traditionally I was a KB/Mouse player).
I don't think I need a fancy HOTAS setup with separate throttle and all that. Just a nice, quality stick that is easy on the hands and has a decent amount of buttons. On-stick axis for throttle is OK, and pivot/roll axis would be nice. Right now I have a Saitek ST290 Pro (USB). So something along those lines with a gameport would be cool. I supose one with rudder pedals would be neat, if games like Descent supported it, but probably too expensive for me.
