I've considered selling it on eBay but the fear of it being destroyed for gold discourages me from doing so. I pulled this from a working Gateway 2000 at work YEARS ago when we were scrapping old PCs by the dozens...long before the current "retro" phase kicked in. I regret tossing so many now rare machines including what today would be considered beautiful Gateway Pentium PRO workstations. Back then, anything in a white case and connected to a CRT meant it was junk...

Who knows, maybe I'll stumble on a suitable motherboard for it someday.

Heres your motherboard, cheap!

This is a Dell branded Intel 'Batman' Socket 4 motherboard. I believe this is before Dell went with proprietary power supplies, so a standard AT should work fine. Cheers!

Hmmm I need one of those! 😀

As they are cheap with free shipping (USA) buy both and ship one to me! I lost a "Batman" auction here in Europe yesterday so I already have the money allocated.

Someone bought the second to last motherboard and I wanted one badly so I bought the last one.

It seems I now live at 2220 Meridian Blvd in Nevada. 🤣

I received a Diamond Monster Fusion (Banshee) today.

Card works fine, but the fan doesn't turn on (the lubricant likely dried, as it is hard to turn).

Maybe it looks like: Pentium III Fan Corrosion - I was never able to explain this phenomenon.

Well, I now have a Diamond Monster Voodoo 1 4MB card on the way.

Nobody else bid on it so I got it for $5.00 + shipping.

Wasn't listed as a 3dfx card.

Not sure what I am going to use it for.. probably save it for another retro machine as I already have the V5-5500 that I bought new back in the day as well as a Voodoo Banshee that I don't have a clue where I got.

Almost could call this a dumpster dive - paid 10 bucks for the husk of a computer from the place I found near work - the case is near damaged and I likely won't keep it, but inside is an AOpen board with 2 ISA slots, a slot-style CPU (I think it's a PII or PIII) and the thing I really wanted.... an ISA SoundBlaster AWE64 (Value, I think)

No idea if it works yet, but fingers crossed 😀

If it works, then it will fit nicely in a P-133/166 machine.

Found somebody selling an Awe64 Value CT4520 with the CT1950 24MB upgrade card and a Yamaha SW60XG. No, I didn't pay a crazy price either.

I wonder how an Awe64 Gold! with the 24MB card will compare to a CT3670 (SB 32 with AWE64 chipset) with 28MB.

😁

Edit:

Got shipping confirmation.

And the glorious seller's pics.

I think I see that auction on eBay. Seller didn't tag it as either 3dfx or voodoo, but it was listed "as-is"/"for parts or not working"?

I was up late last night and found/bought a Diamond MX300, for a reasonable price, shipping included.

Nope, listed as used. The disclaimer down below said if an item was listed "AS-IS" that there were no returns or refunds.

Got two AMD K6-2+ 450ACZ and a Cyrix 6x86MX PR200 along with two 3COM PCI NICs — all for free:

Now this here is very typical for me. I've found these literally the next day after I've ordered a 3+ 400ATZ from eBay for 35 USD (including shipping). Prior to that I've only seen these chips sold in my town for pretty much the same price. Oh, well. Spare parts are always nice and I'll have something to test my Lucky Star 5MVP3 with.

Glorious haul (aside from the GeForce FX abomination..) but be careful with the orchid, one of the labeled chips seem to be partially out of socket, make sure to push that into place before trying it and potentially causing damage.

Looks like it's just the sticker on the chip that is out of line rather then the chip itself.
