Took the opportunity to pick up a very cheap Quadro4 750 XGL card yesterday. Got no prior experience using Quadro4 cards for gaming, so wondering how they compare to their GF4 counterparts? One would think that the Geforce drivers are better suited for gaming than the Quadro ones at least, and well, a Geforce card makes more sense than a Quadro one in a gaming rig to me.

Back in the day, there were mods to convert Geforce cards into Quadro ones. You just moved a SMT resistor on the GF4 family. It should be possible to do the opposite mod, converting the 750 XGL to a Ti4400, its Geforce counterpart. If a Geforce Ti4400 got any significant advantages over a 750 XGL for retro gaming purposes, I'll try it.

So, any input on this? 😀

Quadro drivers should be fine. I didn't notice any performance difference between the 900 XGL and the Ti4600, at least in 3DMark2000, 2001SE, 2003. Results were within 3% of each other at 1024x768/1920x1080.
