I've recently acquired a fairly decent Acer Socket 7 system that came with a 166MMX processor and Win 98 installed. This setup is very close to a PC I already have (233MMX Win98SE) which mostly covers my late DOS gaming needs as well.
So I am thinking of keeping this PC but installing DOS on it. I currently am also working on a 486 build for a UMC 486SX33/40 PC, so I thought using a Pentium 75 on this PC could be nice as it's kind of a gap in my PC collection that could need filling (486 DOS, P75 DOS, P233 Win98SE). Yet, a part of me wants to keep it in its original configuration as much as I can (even though the CD-ROM and HDD will have to go regardless)
My questions at this point are:
1. Is there any practical reason to downgrade this PC to a P75?
2. Are there any games a P166MMX would be too fast but a P75 would be within margin?
3. Would a P75 build make a 486SX33/40 build redundant?
