Well...

Multi

7-Zip is less memory dependent than winrar so there is a bigger difference between POD and PPO.

sweet! I got 505 for my dual OD score. But I know I was running super tight memory timings and I suppose 1gb of ram helps. thank you!

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Size of the RAM makes no difference (as long as there is enough), my timings are also very tight (and have rather low impact). I think that the motherboard can play the biggest role here. What is yours?

Oh, he probably has the best motherboard around for this sort of thing. I still drool over that board. 🤣

It's not like I have the link saved for just such occasions.

My reaction every time I am reminded of this glorious beast. I have literally ZERO use for it and yet I crave it every single time. Such is the life of a VOGONer. 🤣

What other than Quake SMP games should I test on this setup? I have now Diamond Viper V550 (RIVA TNT) so I can test some stuff 😀

I'm trying to get Pentium II 333 Slot 1 in my hands. So there will be POD vs PII duel 😎
In the meantime I am testing P4 1400 s423 (SDR vs DDR vs RIMM).

Pentium Pros are hard to bench... Lack of MMX is painful, even 3DMark 2001 doesn't work 😒 I couldn't fine "falcon 4" except for the version which requires 1,5Ghz CPU, I'm pretty sure it is not the one you have in mind 😜

The mission is accomplished 😁
It will take some time to do all the benchmarks but sooner or later I will publish this test. In english 😀

At some point yes, I will.
BTW how do you think - when my site is done (meaning - nice looking, translated to english) and updated once in a week with article like this above, will there be people willing to donate via paypal or patreon few bucks to support it? To do it fast and professionally I need to hire some help and invest a lot of money. I would love to do it, but can't afford it "just" for fun.

I wouldn't count on it. In general people in this hobby are frugal. only a tiny percentage of us will ever donate. In my case, I just don't have any spare money.

3DMARK 2001SE definitely works on the pentium pro,you must have an incompatible video card or some other problem.

Well, I think I will try anyway, maybe ads will provide some funding 😐

Are you 100% sure of that? I have results of POD II with the same GPU and MOBO. But P Pros are no go.
