Hello,

Has anyone happened to have done a getting started guide to 86Box?
I'm having real difficulty in getting it to recognize the hard disk.
(Using v2.00 - build 1091 and the required ROMS from the homepage) I've set up a machine and allowed it to create a Hard Disk. When I boot into my Windows 98 boot disc, I try to run FDisk, but it says "No Fixed Disks Present."
I've tried mucking about in the BIOS CMOS setup and made tried setting Primary Master to Auto and Primary Slave to Auto, and Secondary Master and Slave to NONE. I've also tried setting Primary Slave to NONE. I've tried hard disks of various sizes, from 700MB through to 4GB, so that's not it. I'm stumped.
Is there perhaps some specific BUS or CHANNEL that I have to select in the Hard Disks settings in 86Box itself?

Grateful for any help...

There are several bus types for the HDD, ranging from MFM/RLL to SCSI (+ removable), check our #softhistory channel over at ringoflightning for more information.
Edit: For your specific configuration written here, set the the HDD type to IDE and the bus type to either IDE PIO or IDE PIO+DMA.
