I'm building a machine based on a Gateway 4000622 / Intel D815EEA motherboard. According to the docs of the D815EEA,
I can use an AGP card with the following:
I recently found a GeForce ti4200 x8 on eBay for a decent price, but it seems that x8 is a part of AGP 3.0? The board has a
universal slot though, so I'm not sure. I haven't had to worry about AGP compatibility since I was a kid so its a bit confusing.
The CPU runs at 667MHz, so I don't know what to look for. I'm not trying to create a general "what is the best gfx card for Win98SE" here.
I'd just appreciate some options that you all might suggest. Another reason I'm posting is I'm not real familiar with the Nvidia cards of this era,
and would also like some pointers on if ATI had the same Intel compatibility issues back then as it did in later years.
As far as the games I like to play, mostly RTS stuff from 1997 - 2003. Not a big FPS gamer, but still want the best graphics possible. Thank you.
