Over the years, I have acquired a pair of Voodoo 2 cards. One, however, appears to be 8mb and the other 12mb. I haven't fired them up to be sure and am only guessing, based on the number of ram chips (the '12mb' card also has ram chips on the back of the card).

My question is-
Is it possible to SLI these? or does the ram amount need to match on each card?

Thanks in advance,

E

It is possible, just not with standard drivers.

About checking memory size - 8MB models will have 12 chips on the front and 4 on the back.

12MB models will have 12 on both sides (24 total) or sometimes 12 on the front and 0 on the back.

My builds!
The FireStarter 2.0 - The wooden K5
The Underdog - The budget K6
The Voodoo powerhouse - The power-hungry K7
The troll PC - The Socket 423 Pentium 4

I was just going to mention this. If you want to be sure, install the card in a board, install drivers and check the 3dfx settings screen to see how much texture and frame buffer memory it finds.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.
