So, i've got some old files that are probably unsuported now days, its various files, but they have one similarity, when you open them in a text editor, they have got an odd hex like pattern, i guess if i find out what is this code i can "decipher" the files, anyway, i was hoping you guys would identify it. 😀

it come from an old chess game. i am not sure about the other two answers, im trying to reverse engineer it, so it can be translated.

My understanding is that you're trying to translate the game, not the book itself. Correct?
It seems like the file format is proprietary, and you have to reverse-engineer the game executable to figure out the data structures.
