Interesting with Dagger of Amon Ra, I always though it was a General MIDI game. Must play it again one day 😀
Yup, it's composed for GM but supports MT-32. The cut-off seems to have been around 1990-1991 with PQ3, Conquests of the Longbow, etc. Play 'em all, I say!
You surely mean the other way around. Dagger is an MT-32 game. General MIDI was standardized in late 1991 and Sierra didn't start to compose specifically for the SC-55 before the end of 1992, early 1993 (Quest for Glory 3, King's Quest 6).

Which is about the time that Sierra first released its GM driver.
Right you are. I was confused by Dagger being issued with GM on initial release, unlike Longbow which was patched to support GM (quite successfully, IMO). I haven't played Dagger, but I hear the music played over GM is fantastic.
I took some time to correct, streamline, make an open format (PDF) and complete Spikey's list. The bulk of the work's still his 😀.
I find alphabetical lists much more convenient when combing for folders or D-Fend profiles, so here are two versions: one sorted alphabetically and the other by year, both group together games by their hardware (i.e all AGI Tandy games are in one section, all MT-32 in another section, etc.).
Enjoy!
You are missing two AGI games, The Black Cauldron and Donald Duck's Playground. Al Lowe would be sad to see two of his earliest designed games go unlisted!
Better late than never...Al Lowe need no longer be sad.
Thanks, I captured the relevant data on the Wikipedia List of MT-32-compatible computer games article.
This also made me realize that Gobliiins went missing from the article. Apparently someone put a citation needed on it and then removed it. WTF, it's listed on MobyGames and in this thread.
Someone also removed Another World from the list, which prompted me to fire up my floppy image in DOSBox and make a recording with my real CM-64 as proof. I had no idea that the game uses it for sound and not music! Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwGxzE4FvIk

Whoever removed it from Wikipedia was right :s I don't know how Gobliiins slipped in there, attached are a pic of the sound card selection screen for Gobliiins and an updated MIDI list 😜. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Interestingly, it seems the game has no music on any hardware, except maybe Redbook CD audio or something in the CD version?

Since I cannot edit my post above, I forgot that Doom 1 and 2, as well as Duke Nukem series (I digress) don't require the 330h address or IRQ 2/9 as those games have it where you can choose the port address for the music. The other ones listed above (Sierra On-Line) requires the IRQ 2/9 and 330h port channel. Star Wars: X-Wing and TIE Fighter have the option to enter another MIDI port for the GM.
Here's my list (games I have installed on my computer at home).
- Which Duke Nukem is primarily an MT-32 game? I didn't think any of them even supported MIDI at all except for DN3D - which is a General MIDI game?
- Can someone verify that Earl Weaver Baseball II actually supports MT-32? I'm adding it to the wikipedia list based on verification that it's an installer option, but I can't seem to reinstall my copy of the game to change the sound option.
- Verified and added NHL 95 to the wikipedia list

Duke Nukem 3D unofficially supports the MT-32 (MT to GM patch must be applied). I have ran Earl Weaver's Baseball II game with my Roland MT-32 (requires installing the driver for it when selecting the sound).
Forgot to add more games to the compatibility lists.
Sid Meier's Civilization for MS-DOS:
PC Speaker, Tandy 3-Voice, Adlib/Sound Blaster, and Roland MT-32 (the game asks which of those are installed)
Lemmings 2 for MS-DOS:
Tandy 3-Voice, Adlib/Sound Blaster, and Roland MT-32
