Anything hardware or retro related for Christmas presents anyone? I "inherited" a larger monitor because we got our son new monitors for Christmas. 🤣. He had two older monitors - a 1680x1050 and 1440x900. I got him a pair of 144Hz 24" 1920x1080 monitors. So I get the 1680x1050. 😀 Replaces a 17" 1280x1024 LCD display that had seen better days. I don't game much on this system, but the extra real estate comes in real handy for web browsing! Yay for me!

What did you get?

Not on Christmas but a RX580 4GB on black Fridays sales. I don't play newer games but I needed something better then a 4870x2.

Put this in the Bought retro hardware thread, but Santa brought me this. It's a SuperCard Pro USB floppy controller, think a cheaper Kryoflux. So far had a lot of troubles archiving Atari 8-bit disks, so I'm waiting on a response from the creator.

Yes!

- New Wii game, Wheelspin.
- Secondhand case to my next build.
- Lot with NIC and optical drivers, asorted wires, internal 3,5'' FDD.
- A very tiny Wireless Keyboard/mouse pad to use with the next computer hosted in my TV room 😁
- And a lot of work to play with all together.

Gave myself a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD and a 34" Dell ultra wide display.
Nearly pulled the trigger on a 1080Ti, but decided to wait a bit longer. Pascal's been out for well over a year now, so there's gotta be something new right around the corner. My poor GTX 970 is really feeling the burn at 3440x1440.

No hardware-related presents for Christmas (unless you count a 43" TV for my game room), but I did buy two Tualatin CPUs (a 1 GHz Celeron and a 1.13 GHz Pentium III) recently. I also came across a Wireless Apple Keyboard on a thrift store visit 9 days before Christmas so now my Mac Mini has its own keyboard on the shared monitor setup.

Quite jealous of your 1TB SSD, that's more than enough storage capacity to make me go for a single SSD setup, still waiting for the day where large SSDs finally become affordable. 😜

Not gear, but I bought a (very large) new house so I will have a large dedicated room to my "museum". Unpacking will take a while, I will post pictures when I have the computers up.

I don't get anything for Christmas anymore... And this particular "holiday season" had nothing but turns for the worst for me this year.

Sorry for being a downer, but I just had to get that out of my system.

Yeah, I also didn't get anything this christmas.. but hey! part of the whole joys and wonders of getting older' thing. On the bright side it seems I could recover my two Quantum3D 8264 cards which I thought were lost for good. 😀
