I recently installed Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 onto my Windows 98SE machine, and I hit snags when I was trying to run the game. Here are the error messages I get:

The attachment nfshp2-1.png is no longer available
The attachment nfshp2-2.png is no longer available

Am I doing something wrong here, and has anyone also faced this issue?

I feel like a complete idiot. I re-installed DirectX 9c on my machine since I had to repair the system registry due to a bug (luckily, I made a backup from the last state). It now runs, but it crashes...

Edit (1-9-2018 @ 15:37 or 3:37pm EST): got the game to work now. Now I have to purchase a special ATX power cable for my desktop to get an ISA sound card to work.

Maybe use something like direct x eradicator to remove direct x and install dx9c again?

Side note. Nfs hp2 is better on playstation 2.

I removed DirectX 9c completely using the DirectX Buster program (selecting English, of course) and re-installed DirectX 9c, plus, I also removed the GeForce 6200 card and VooDoo2 card due to compatibility issues and installed the TNT2 M64 card into the computer, and it now works. Had issues with my Media Vision Pro Audio Studio 16 with the lack of the -5V that the PSU I have installed doesn't have that caused the sound effects/music (not the synthesizer), but all is well.
