I need pictures of the ECS P5SD-B that can not be found on google. I have one that is missing a component (transistor, regulator or something) and i would really like to fix it. I think a picture of the P5SD-AS is also fine as i assume it is using the same vrm components, again, this can also not be found on google as i can not read the part numbers.

Not the p5sd-b+, the ''plus'' version has Via chipset and mine is a SiS.

Thank you!

One last shot....hopefully someone can help?

It is about the missing part in the picture, right next to the'' mospec'' part (i know there is also a heatsink missing from the other part). I would really like to get this board working as it is a SiS socket 7 motherboard with agp slot, so pretty hard to find.

What you have here is a non-synchronous buck converter missing its switching mosfet. I'd suggest you to solder on wires any N-channel power fet just to test if the rest of the circuit (PWM IC, diode, etc.) are good. You can find power fets on any motherboard that uses switching type VRMs.

I tried something but have 2 problems; can't get those things off the old boards nomatter what i try. It all gets very hot but will not come off 😵

But the biggest problem: which one to get? Can you name some common types that should work on my board? I have absolutely no clue and reading trough spec sheets didn't make it any easier for me 🤣

Thanx!

Hard to take good pictures as the motherboard is built into a case and in use.
If I can be of any other help, please do ask.
Best,
Chris

BSA Starfire postest same topology VRM as you have (FET - Q and rectifier/diode - D), FET used in his motherboard would fit yours perfectly. Here is N-channel FET used in one of my s370 mobos http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheet2/f/ … wlr4l000kcy.pdf, a 20A FET with 3V max Vgs-th. Look for a FET that has similar characteristics. You can use 20A+ FET w/o problems, but it has to meet reqs for low Vgs-th (FET ON votage) and fast swithing speeds and low on resistance. Use https://alltransistors.com to filter out FETs that meet such reqs.

Thank you BSA!

I couldn't read all of it but i saw the 03LT part and i had a part with 45N03LT from an old board laying around so i tried that (and now i see that SSTV2 is stating the same so it should work).

Unfortunately it did not work 😢

I think the part that is missing the big heatsink is a voltage regulator? I gave it a heatsink and it warms up. Also the cpu (Intel 233 mmx) warms up. Tried a few sticks of sdram and also tried EDO
No fireworks but no go either....

I think i have to give up on this one. I have plenty of s7 and ss7 boards but it would have been nice to play with this one, was hoping to get Tillamook going on it.

Thank you guys for the big help, very much appreciated!
