It was a transitional period. When Prescott came out there were both socket 478 and LGA 775 versions. You'd find any combo of 478/775 DDR1/DDR2 & AGP/PCIe boards from that era. Intel chipsets are probably better than VIA's, like the 865PE.

Asrock is well known for such Franken-boards. Maybe they have something newer for AGP/DDR1/Core2Duo.
This one has both AGP, PCI-E, DDR1 and 2.
I wouldn't use any higher end Core2Quad's or big Prescott's on it though, the VRM's are weak.

I recall dual PCIe/AGP boards of that time having AGP tied off the PCI bus and being very bandwidth limited as such--bad choices generally. Best to pick one or the other.

Best Intel AMD chipset would be 865PE, at least for me. This chipset was bring from Socket 478, and they just change Socket for 775, no other changes was made to chipset. Proper new chipset for Socket 775 was 9xx series.

ASRock did made few Frankenstein/transition board with VIA/Ali chipsets, I do own one, 4CoreDual-SATA2 (Socket 775, DDR1 and DDR2, AGP and PCIe (limited to 4x), SATA and PATA). Not the best board under sun, but supports almost all but FSB1333 Socket 775 CPUs, and its fully compatible with Windows 98, 2000, XP, even Vista and 7.

@OP In the old days (Pre Nehalem for Intel) ALL bus support (together with IMC) - was Northbridge "thing".
That's why, you can have a QX9770 CPU with DDR1 memory and AGP GPU.

I would say you have the most modern AGP board then, so long as the card is a chip compatible with that motherboard. Like the wiki says, that can be an issue.
It is a bit era-weird to have that CPU with DDR1 and AGP though. But that makes it more fun 😜

Actually there is a board which supports Phenom II x4, BUT it doesn't like anything newer than XP (nForce 3 FTW 😀).
As for GPU... I used with it most of the ones worth mentioning :

^Out of all that hardware, the most problems I had with Radeon 8500 (top right corner) [old 3DMarks coudn't complete some tests, otherwise - GPU worked fine].
