I'm a derp and bought a db9 null modem cable instead of db25, costing me the port for my mouse on my 486.
Would there be any problem if I buy a DB9 MALE to DB25 FEMALE connector so I can plug it into the DB25 MALE port on my 486? I'm sure they route to the DB9 pins to the same ones on DB25 but just want to be sure.
so it would run from DB25 MALE output on the 486 right into a DB9 MALE port on computer #2 and still work no problem?
edit: hmmm not sure if the adapter would be pinned correctly for null modem.
I have a second VLB controller card, I tried disabling everything except the serial port and setting that to com2 (and disabling com2 on my main controller), both ports show up in msd and at startup but com2 doesn't seem to work at 02f8H & IRQ3.
As another last ditch, my case has a male DB9 port on with a 10 pin connector for the controller card, I tried connecting that up to one of the serial headers on my controller card and re-enabling com2, but still no luck. (even though com1 and com2 are detected)
Sup. I like computers. Are you a computer?
