So, I've been finding a working-and-tested laptop that is capable of running Windows 98 (not only that, but also Windows XP SP3) that is on my budget ($50 up to around $75, or ₱2,500 to ₱3753.75 in my country). I've seen one similar thread, which is also a recommendations thread on Windows 98/XP laptops as well.
I am looking for a cheap Windows 98 laptop that has the following specifications suited for gaming:
[…]
- Processor: Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX (particularly 233MHz, for DOS4GW MS-DOS games and DirectDraw/early Direct3D era Windows games) or Intel Pentium III (700MHz to 1.0GHz)/Intel Pentium M (1.3GHz to 1.5GHz) (for DirectX 5.0 to 9 era games)
- RAM: 128MB (for Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX-based laptops)/256MB (for Intel Pentium III/Intel Pentium M-based laptops)
- Graphics chip: Particularly any SVGA or DirectDraw-capable graphics chip (Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX-based laptops) or ATi RAGE Mobility/ATI Mobility Radeon (Intel Pentium III/Intel Pentium M-based laptops)
- Display: 640x480/800x600 (Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX-based laptops) or 1024x768 (Intel Pentium III/Intel Pentium M-based laptops)
- HDD: 4GB (Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX-based laptops) or 30GB to 80GB (Intel Pentium III/Intel Pentium M-based laptops)
- Sound chip: Creative SoundBlaster-compatible sound chip (Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX-based laptops) or Intel AC97' (Intel Pentium III/Intel Pentium M-based laptops)
- Has a CD-ROM drive (Intel Pentium MMX/Intel Pentium II MMX-based laptops) or DVD-ROM drive (Intel Pentium III/Intel Pentium M-based laptops)
- Has a PCMIA slot so that it can support WiFi
Thanks
