This person advertises a lot with great 3dfx cards, usually cib and sometimes even sealed items. His prices are steep imho but this one goes way over the top:

https://www.marktplaats.nl/a/computers-en-sof … previousPage=lr

That's close to 650 dollar.. comparing it to his own (also sealed) Diamond v2 12mb card for which he asks less than half i'm completely lost 🤣

This one beats all in recent memory. I know it's an elusive Adlib Gold... but really?

If this sells, I will lose that much more faith in humanity.

You clearly don't know what that computer is 🤣

It's the original Apple Lisa model 1 with the Twiggy drives, which were so horribly unstable Apple offered free upgrades to the Lisa 2 with the Sony 400k drive. All you had to do was send your Lisa 1 back to Apple, which promptly destroyed all returns...

I believe 20 or so? Twiggy Lisa 1 computers exist anymore, so I'd say it's something more than "this old apple."

I know exactly what that system is. I believe you do not. Its a Frankenstein. its not factory, but built from parts.

Just 449 euro excluding shipping for a really yellow, nasty and clearly tired Tandon pc: https://www.ebay.nl/itm/Tandon-Plus-TM7780-MS … uwAAOSwkvdaWnsP

Rare or not, it just ain't worth it in that horrible state..

I looked at the seller rating for that seller. Pretty much everything there was pretty expensive. My guess is that motherboard was used is a specific piece of manufacturing equipment and anybody who needs a replacement is pretty much up the creek without a paddle unless they either buy an exact replacement (they don't know they could use a similar board) or rebuild the system from scratch.

Those people will pay that kind of money to get their system back up and running as quickly as possible with the least amount of hassle.

Well what do you know, see the color that is "pure"gold color this is why the price is higher, i think is even cheaper if the seller sells it like pure gold vintage machine he will put 999.99$.........

Also that type of sellers are just greedy, but the real mad man are the buyers that pay that prices.....

At least your getting a lot of junk with it. It looks like it *could* be worth that much if you squint a little. Similar pictures of Amigas and Atari STs and Apple IIs seem to go for similar amounts.

He also has some nice 3dfx stuff which is not advertised anywhere but he for sure has lost his mind regarding the prices...
I vaguely remember 2-3 years ago a seller had several sealed V2 1000 for sale on eBay. It just needs an abandoned box with factory sealed items to resurface to get those morons back to earth. Patience is the key. They aren't rare, there are plenty of them. They just don't regularly show up.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/AWE64-Gold-ISA-New/1 … 7gAAOSwFV9X1nas

now this guy lost his mind, maybe is his only card, and he putted x2.5 the price.....
Also no real pictures for that price rofl...

Meanwhile this price is better

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Creative-Labs-Sound- … -4AAOSwYxBaKYUE

And still i will not pay even 50$ for that, better to wait and some used will show up, that is how i have x2 AWE 64 values...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-P3B-F-Slot-1-Mo … vQAAOSwOgdYxGY-

This price also sucks "only" 300$ for it, and is not even sealed and brand new greedy people, good there is a chance to find that type of hardware, mine will cost me like 10$ (seems i did save 280$).......

What to say about Voodoo 4 and Voodoo 5 cards, the price is no comment, at least i have people from where i can buy rare things for better prices, for example Voodoo 5500 for like 60-70$ instead of 170+..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/3Dfx-Voodoo-4-4500-3 … 1sAAOSwDVtaUmq1

Now this guy seems really greedy, if someone steal his card it will be noble act.........

This is pricey, plus the condition this IBM PC AT 5170 is in.

I did bid on one that was in better shape, but I cancelled my bids on account of bills.
Mods, feel free to remove this if this is too much.

Is there anything notable about that particular model?

Packard Bell used them around 2000 on some Platinum/iExtreme models. They were infamous for terrible caps even by turn-of-the-millennium standards. We saw one case where a failing cap caused a MOSFET to short circuit and burn straight throught the PCB.
