Sounds like just the sort of rarity VOGONSDrivers *should* have. 😀

Hello everyone!

This is my very first time in this section of the forum here. I'd like to be able to post a set of nVidia graphics drivers, currently unavailable in the driver archive here, for Windows 9x-xp. They are the following:

nVidia Detonator (v56.64) (9x-me) (International), 14,642KB
nVidia Detonator (v56.64) (2k-xp) (International), 14,907KB

The reason why I would like to submit them is because I heard from somewhere (I forget where) that version 56.64 was the last version that was still stable for the 440BX platform. I also heard somewhere else that it fixed a bug with Unreal Tournament.

Finally, because the 9x-me version completely fixed the remaining software/stability issues I was having with my latest build, based around the following:

Intel Celeron 400A Socket 370 400MHz Mendocino CPU (first ever PC's CPU)
Tyan Tomahawk BX motherboard (based on the Intel 440BX chipset)
512MB (2x256MB) Kingston PC100 CL2 SDRAM
128MB Palit GeForce 4 MX 440 128-bit AGP 8x (NV18 based) graphics card
3Com 3C905-TX (Revision B) PCI network card
Intel 536EP V.92 PCI modem (first ever PC's modem)
Turtle Beach Montego II Aureal Vortex II PCI audio card
Belkin 4+1 port PCI USB 2.0 card
VIA 3+1 port PCI Firewire card
Yamaha Audician 32 ISA (YMF718-S OPL3 based) sound card
Beige & blue first ever PC's case
Seasonic SS-350ET (Revision B1W) PSU
E24N-5VT20Y-5V-EPS-ATX-24-PIN-NO-5V-TO-ATX-20-PIN-W-5V-5-MADE-IN-USA -5v rail ATX adaptor (from eBay USA)
Western Digital Caviar WD600JB IDE HDD (system)
Western Digital Caviar WD1200JB IDE HDD (data)
Lite-On DVD/CD-RW Combo drive (beige)
Lite-On DVD-ROM drive (beige)
Mitsumi 1.44MB 3.5" floppy disk drive (beige)
StarTech 50x50x41mm Socket 7/370 CPU Cooler (FANP1003LD)
Windows 98 Second Edition (with Service Pack 3)

I was originally using the 45.23 driver, which was generally recommended for older games and system compatibility. Unfortunately, it didn't like my build, giving me nothing but Run32.dll memory access errors when doing all sorts of things, like trying to run software like CoreDRAW 9, or even when trying to view file properties in Explorer at times.

Then I changed to the 56.64 driver(s) (which was very hard to find) and all those problems went away. Suddenly, I finally had a completely stable system, based around my first ever PC's processor, modem & case, only now with additional new and improved components swapped in from my original ones! 😀

So thanks everyone on these forums, and Phil's Computer Lab's YouTube channel and website in particular, for giving me all the hints and tips I needed to complete this retro build! 😀

The world is insane and so am I, which makes me more trustworthy with a chainsaw than a person who claims to be sane in an insane world. 😉

Hello!

S3 Refresh 2.37. This version works on ViRGE/DX and ViRGE/GX chips at least, I don't know if it does work on later S3 chips since I only have two ViRGE/GX cards. Found this version on the AOpen website when searching a Windows 3.x driver.

Thank you for the link. I forgot the mention in my first post that none of those drivers seem to be be on their server anymore. Every single one gives me a file not found error.

I have a 20.8 GB archive of the Abit ftp server from before it went offline. If you can give me the filenames that you need, I can search for them, and I think I can attach them to a reply.

I really appreciate that. Attached is a text file of the ones I think might be most helpful.

I'm running Win98SE so I grabbed pretty much all of the ones listed for it. If you can't find them all no worries every little but helps. If attaching them doesn't work I have Dropbox, Google docs and One Drive.
