Hey guys,

I have a question about BlackStar: Agent of Justice. It gives yo uthe option at the beginning for selecting a soundcard for music playback, but when I choose this option, I get no sound at all. I've read the SOUND.DOC it provides, and it tells me to run the file FM.COM before running the game. I try that, but it gives me an error saying SBFMDRV: ERROR 0002: FM FEATURE NOT AVAILABLE ON THE CARD. So I tried changing the SET BLASTER settings in my AUTOEXEC.BAT to A220 I7 D3 T1 (which is the example that SOUND.DOC gives) and then when I run FM.COM it appears to load properly. But even after that, when I run the game I still get no sound.

Has anyone gotten the sound to work properly under DOSBox? I've watched several videos of it on YouTube and almost all of them either have no sound or they have chosen the PC Speaker option. I found one video that had soundcard music playing properly, but I don't know how the guy got it working or if he was even playing it on DOSBox.

Thanks a ton!

It's almost always best to not change the BLASTER environment variable directly. DOSBox will set the variable according to its SB settings, assuring that they agree with one another.

Absolutely perfect! Thank you so much!

I actually didn't realize that SBTYPE was one of the parameters you could alter from within DOSBox, so thank you for that as well!
