Laugh or cry...
Edit: I have removed the ebay link and replaced a information link to the kind of mobo:

There is a time and place for everything, but advertising eBay links on here is prohibited.

Laugh & cry simultaneously!
In 40 years, it will be worth either $0.01 or that amount.
Useless gimmick.

Where is this rule written? I know that there is a whole thread dedicated to eBay links and such (overpriced stuff).
And why do I get to know that such thing exists just now?! It's not a gimmick http://www.techwarelabs.com/reviews/motherboa … g/index_2.shtml.

Answer: The rule is uncodified, but after almost every post that links to the well-known online auction website, someone mentions the rule. (Retro websites are reactive rather than proactive, naturally.) I've gathered that there was a crisis a few months ago on VOGONS that began with affiliate links & possibly fraud and ended with bannings, rage-quittings & revenge porn/gore. (One public WiFi that I use is now blocking vogons.org as an inappropriate site.) So now, the well-known online auction website best not be mentioned.
Yes please don't post auction links.
I remember seeing this motherboard review in 2003. 😀
Couple of tube motherboard owners here on vogons - at a much more palatable price 😀
Pentium4 mobos are the future rare piece of hardware. Give them to your children, in 40 years they'll be worth the price of a car
Most of them will be junk even after 40 years.

in 40 years id hope people realize finally AXP and A64 are better than P4 🤣

The same thing was said about AT 486 tower clones 10 years ago which would never be worth anything as it's just a cheap mass-produced clone. Many thanks to all the freebies back then 😁
As a feature it's junk regardless, as the Serpent Rider already said. Tube amps can be great for sound quality, but are totally dependent on input, which is still a badly filtered HDA codec here. Nonetheless, I woudn't mind one of these boards - but only if two zeroes dropped off the price.

But they overheat and fail, cause fires and kill kittens? /s

Don't forget about the toxic fumes of the magic smoke when one of them burns up again 😜
The same thing was said about AT 486 tower clones 10 years
I really don't care about ebay scalping craze with artificial price inflation. Locally I can buy fully functional 486 tower/desktop for 50-60 bucks tops and mobos for 5-15. There's still too much of that junk lying around.

You are lucky, where do you live ? I live in France and it sucks for retro hardware, NO local shop will sell any old computers. The oldest computers you can find are sold at approx 80 euros and it's no older than Core2duo most of time. The market for old hardware doesn't seems to even exist here, except for video games.
