There used to be some issues with Voodoo2 cards and Athlon systems. There are some hacked drivers that supposedly fix these issues, but I can't really comment on their quality. You can get them here:

Yeah, definitely. Provided the games you are trying to play are not CPU bound and you are gaming at 1024x768, Voodoo2 SLI setups don't scale much after a Pentium 3 500 or so and essentially they attain the ceiling at around a Pentium 3 733.
Phil's Voodoo2 Scaling Project is really cool if you're interested in that:

You can see that Quake 2 for example performs the same at 1024x768 between a Pentium II 400 and a Tualatin 1400. Unreal, which is a far more CPU intensive game, does scale all the way up to ~Pentium 3 1GHz and perhaps even lower.
Topic already marked as solved, but I had the same with my Voodoo2 SLI setup.
P3-800mhz in DOS with Creative 1998 drivers: freeze in DOS glide. Downclock to 400mhz: fine. Latest 3dfx reference drivers fixed this for me, so you may not need the 3rd party ones.

Tested with P4 3.2E and C2D 8400.
Win9x: 3.02.02 and 3.03.00a are ok. All others have the speed bug (freezes / not detects).
Win2k: 1.02.02 is ok. Works ok with WinXp after 2 tweaks.
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).
