Moved this to what I think is the most appropriate forum.

Hi,

I have a Win 3.1 program (Warcraft 2 editor) that I'm running in DOSBOX with a Windows 3.1 installation. Everything is working fine, including the sound, if I launch Windows 3.1 first or both simultaneously (e.g. WIN WAR2EDIT.EXE). However, when I replace the SHELL=PROGMAN.EXE line in the SYSTEM.INI file with SHELL=WAR2EDIT.EXE in order to launch the editor without having Program Manager up, the editor launches properly, but sounds no longer work.

Any idea why this is, and how I might get around it? (I'm replacing shell= because I want the program to auto-close upon quitting rather than going back to the Windows program manager, and the alternate RUNEXIT solution does not work for this particular program).
