just read the tread saying no game/application specific questions, so I'll reforumlaté my question:
the second window (the one in the back, not the one you're writing in) is telling me that when I press any key in a program I just opened that "shell: redirect output to null"
and I do not have a clue.
does anyone?
It means that the game tried to display something, but that it had previously instructed DOSBox to throw away the output instead of showing it on the screen.

ok but the program asks me to press a key to continiue - and then I get the message - and I would like to go further but can't so I just wonder if there is anything to do to avoid this?

yes, in detail:
I started the program - game - in dosbox (start.bat from Cd) and a menu pops up. it askes me to press key 1 through 5 depending on what I want. I do, and nothing happens but the "shell: redirect output to null".
I know that this propably is not easy to answer...
Is there a program called "what" or "which" on the CD?
