So, I have a Compaq Presario 425 coming in the mail today. Awesome retro computer.
I only have one concern with this particular computer - it has a built-in CRT as you know. I tend to get neurotic about things, and this time it's CRTs and radiation.
This 425 does have a crack in the plastic frame [see the attached photo]. It's not a severe crack, and from what I can see it does not affect the CRT in any way, but is there and is noticeable.
Should I be at all concerned, or is it simply cosmetic (I'll take cosmetic issues over functionality any day!) and safe to use? It does appear to be just a typical plastic crack, but of course, I'm neurotic about it 😜
