i'm a linux user, specifically gentoo... so after emerging the program, and getting the tyrian2k game files i needed, i launch dosbox, happy to be able to play my favorite all time shooter

problem, the default cycles are at 3000, tyrian requires at least 8k to run without slowdown, my computer can handle that, but i have no way to change the cycles! ctrl-f8 does not work, and i have no idea where to place a config file, i have tried using a front-end, dboxfe, but the starting cycles on that only go up to 3500, which is still well shy of what i need, how do i get my cycles up?
